Recently, our Board Chair, Kristin Shrimplin, was featured on WCPO 9 NewsCome Have Coffee With Michelle, with host Michelle Hopkins. In the interview, Kristin shared more about the powerful work of Women Helping Women and their commitment to supporting survivors of gender-based violence and strengthening families across Southwest Ohio.

Centering Safety, Dignity, and Access to Care

Women Helping Women has long been a cornerstone organization in our region, providing critical advocacy, crisis support, prevention education, and long-term resources for survivors. Their work not only responds to immediate needs but also addresses the systemic factors that impact safety and well-being.

Through her leadership, Kristin continues to elevate the importance of creating communities where individuals feel safe, respected, and supported. These values closely align with HealthPath’s mission to advance health equity and ensure that all people — regardless of circumstance — have meaningful access to care and opportunity.

Safety and health are deeply connected. When individuals and families are free from violence and trauma, they are better positioned to thrive physically, emotionally, and economically. Organizations like Women Helping Women play a vital role in building that foundation.

Leadership That Reflects Community Commitment

Kristin’s service to both Women Helping Women and HealthPath Foundation exemplifies the type of cross-sector leadership that strengthens our region. By bridging nonprofit advocacy, community engagement, and philanthropic strategy, she helps ensure that our collective efforts are aligned around equity and long-term impact.

At HealthPath, we believe advancing health equity requires collaboration — across healthcare systems, community-based organizations, public agencies, and philanthropy. Leaders like Kristin demonstrate what is possible when commitment to community drives action.
