Career Opportunity: Program Coordinator, Children’s Oral Health Action Team (Full-Time)

Children's Oral Health Action TeamCINCINNATI (April 21, 2017) — Children’s Oral Health Action Team (COHAT) is a coalition of organizations formed to address children’s oral health in Ohio. Created in 2009, COHAT works to ensure that Ohio’s children have healthy teeth and gums by striving to ensure that quality oral health care is available to all children in the state regardless of family income, and that comprehensive oral health care begins when children are infants. 

The new program coordinator position for COHAT will play a key role in advancing the oral health agenda across Ohio. The coordinator will organize activities, educate providers, advocate for oral health policy, and manage communication across the organization. Competitive salary and benefits package. Frequent travel throughout Ohio is required.

Program Coordinator (Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities 

Coordination
  • Implementation of COHAT’s strategic plan objectives and action plan
  • Strengthen COHAT’s role as a convener/facilitator around oral health issues
  • Coordinate with the Fitzgibbon’s Group to advance COHAT’s policy agenda
  • Plan and organize COHAT board meetings
  • Assist HealthPath to identify grant revenue sources, apply for funding, and complete reports.
Communication 
  • Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders around oral health issues
  • Answer, screen and provide appropriate responses for incoming phone calls 
  • Maintain regular communications with board and membership 
  • Ensure COHAT website content is up to date

Education/Experience 

  • Experience managing or coordinating initiatives, coalitions and/or community-based public health agencies 
  • Experience in or knowledge of healthcare and/or health insurance related advocacy and policy development and advancement, preferably experience in oral health policy
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, public health, public administration, organizational development or related field 
  • Demonstrates understanding of health equity and application in the oral health field This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities.
